Nutella-Berry French Toast Rolls

French toast is amazing - I think we all agree on that! And don’t even get me started on Nutella. Definitely one of my guilty pleasures for breakfast. But have you tried rolled french toast with Nutella before? It tastes heavenly and is made within no time.

All you need to do is spread Nutella on toast, add your desired fruit (I chose raspberries and blueberries which go so so well with Nutella), roll it up, dip the rolls into your egg-milk mix, lightly coat the rolls with cinnamon-sugar, then fry until the rolls are crunchy from the outside and the fruit becomes squishy and mixes with the melted Nutella inside.

Give it a try and let me know how you liked it!

Ingredients
For 12 rolls (serves 2 because they are addictive and you’ll come back for more later)
Preparation time: 20 minutes

  • 12 slices toast

  • 2 eggs

  • 5 tbsp milk (I used oat milk)

  • 7 tbsp sugar

  • 1.5 tsp cinnamon

  • 200 g berries (I used raspberries & blueberries)

  • butter

  • optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Method

  1. Cut crust off 12 slices of toast and use a rolling pin to flatten them.

  2. Spread sliced with Nutella and line up some berries at the lower end of each slice.

  3. Roll the slices up tightly so they do not open up.

  4. Beat 2 eggs and 5 tbsp milk in a flat bowl, using a fork.

  5. Combine 7 tbsp sugar and 1.5 tsp cinnamon in a second flat bowl.

  6. Dip each french toast roll into the egg mix, then lightly roll through cinnamon-sugar mix.

  7. Heat some butter in a frying pan on medium-high heat. Add french toast rolls and fry for 2-3 minutes from both sides until browned.

  8. Serve french toast rolls hot, dusted with some powdered sugar.

Enjoy!
